The main influence on the Indigo herd over the last few years has been Somerset Arequipa King. With his unfortunate and untimely death earlier this year (please read more), Indigo is now using his son, Arequipa Syrah, as the main stud male for the herd, along with the genetics of Surilana Windslip.

Packages are available for new breeders whilst different genetics are available to those already breeding suri.

Surilana Windslip is a homozygous grey suri male with stunning fleece coverage. He has won blue ribbons in every show that he has entered including the 2009 Victorian Colourbration Show, the 2009 Canberra Royal Show and the 2009 National Show. His second fleece is returning with defined locks and brilliant lustre.

Not available for outside matings but he will be mated to our grey, fawn and black girls coming onto the market for sale at the end of 2010.

First Suri Bale for Auction in Australia

Indigo Alpacas has coordinated the first ever bale of suri fleece for auction in Australia. The bale goes up for auction in mid December.

Somerset Arequipa King

Somerset Arequipa King was a famous solid dark fawn suri who significantly influenced and improved the Australian coloured suri herd. He had over a hundred progeny before his death and therefore his lineage will continue through these animals.
